Local Author Launches Second eBook with Penguin's Destiny Romance
Local Byron Bay writer Jennifer St George’s second book – Seducing the Secret Heiress – published by Penguin’s digital-first imprint, Destiny Romance, hit e-book shelves today.
Ms St George says it has been a whirlwind couple of months. “My first novel - The Convenient Bride - was launched by Destiny Romance in mid-2012 and Penguin has already accepted a third book. The Convenient Bride has received lots of five-star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.”
Seducing the Secret Heiress was inspired by Ms St George’s real life experience of appearing on a reality TV show. “I was part of the Australian version of Dragon’s Den broadcast by the Seven Network a few years ago. Being filmed under harsh spotlights was very nerve-wracking. I hope incorporating that experience into the book gives the story authenticity.”
Seducing the Secret Heiress is the story of an heiress, Charlotte Wentworth, who hides her true identity. When she meets gorgeous Englishman, Gabe Grenville, a famous reality TV producer, sparks fly. Charlotte passes herself off as a lowly catering assistant but soon finds herself a star on his TV cooking show. But how will he react when he discovers Charlotte's true identity?
“The story is based in Italy and London with an Australian heroine. I visited Italy again recently a few years ago and lived in London for seven years, so was able use these experiences to formulate the settings.”
Seducing the Secret Heiress performed well in both Australian and New Zealand writing competitions, coming 3rd in the Romance Writers of Australia 2012 Emerald Award and being awarded a Highly Commended in the prestigious NZ romance writing award, The Clendon.
Two local cafes are named in the book’s acknowledgements. “I spend a lot of time writing in One, One, One and Mary Ryan’s so I mentioned both in the acknowledgements to say thank you for always looking after me.”
Both Seducing the Secret Heiress and The Convenient Bride are available now from all good ebook retailers including Amazon, iTunes, Google play and Kobo or by visiting www.destinyromance.com. “Destiny plans to bring out print versions of my books this year.”
Destiny Romance is the first Australian direct-to-digital romance.
