Local Author Receives Best Romance Nomination, Launches New Novel and Introduces New Writing Course just in time for Valentine’s Day
5 February 2014: Byron Bay author Jennifer St George’s third novel has been announced as a finalist in the 2013 Australian Romance Readers Awards. The awards recognize excellence in Australian romance fiction.
The Love Deception has been nominated in the Favourite Short Category Romance section. “I feel like a winner already to be in a finals list with some of Australia’s best romance writing talent,” says Ms St George.
Ms St George received her nomination news in the same week her fourth book hit e-book shelves. The Billionaire’s Pursuit of Love is now available internationally. “It features a wildlife warrior heroine battling wills with one of the world’s richest men. It’s already received some good reviews which I’m thrilled about.”
It took Ms St George three years of solid writing before landing her first publishing contract with Penguin and now she’s developed a romance-writing course to teach others the tricks of the trade. “In the US alone, the industry is worth over US$1.3 billion so it can be highly lucrative, but it’s tough to break into. Developing your writing craft and knowing the ins and outs of the industry can save you years stumbling around in the writing abyss.”
Ms St George’s course, Introduction to Writing Romance & Getting Published will be offered through the Byron Community College. The course will run over six weeks commencing 20 February at 6pm. To enroll contact the College on t: 02 6684 3374 or visit www.byroncollege.org.au.
Winners of the Australian Romance Readers Awards will be announced at a glittering gala dinner being held in Sydney, March 22.
